The Utica Police Department Investigations Unit is staffed by a Detective Sergeant, and a plain clothes officer assigned as an investigator. These officers are responsible for all criminal investigations initiated by our department. They present cases to the City Attorney and the Macomb County Prosecutor for warrant authorizations, they also handle all matters referred to the Macomb County Juvenile Court, they act as our liaison officers to the Utica Community Schools, and are responsible for being on call when summoned after hours by patrol officers to scenes of major crimes. They also work closely with neighboring departments detectives and are both members of the Macomb County Detectives Association. Additionally, they work closely with the County of Macomb Enforcement Team (C.O.M.E.T.) to investigate and prosecute narcotics offenses within the city. Anyone with information on a crime or a suspicious situation in your neighborhood is encouraged to call the Detective Bureau Sergeant with the information at (586) 731-2345, ext. 213 or 214 respectively.
